This page will contain a list of terms used in this wiki and in the brewing process. We will attempt to define them to the best of our knowledge.
Beer
- a general name for alcoholic beverages made by fermenting a cereal (or mixture of cereals) flavored with hops
Wort
- the liquid extracted from the mashing process during the brewing of beer or whisky. Wort contains the sugars that will be fermented by the brewing yeast to produce alcohol.
Yeast
- a commercial leavening agent containing yeast cells; used to raise the dough in making bread and for fermenting beer or other alcoholic beverages.
